Our responsibility in troubled times
The world is the midst of an unprecedented health crisis, what with the Corona virus making it’s presence felt all across the world.
Everywhere, there is panic buying in supermarkets and medical stores. Supplies are at an all time low. Schools and colleges are being shut down. Stock Markets around the world are in the red. International trips are being cancelled and people with even the slightest symptoms are being quarantined.
The situation may or may not be as grim as purported by the media. But even so, we must take all necessary precautions to ensure the disease does not spread. We all have a responsibility to contain the spread of this virus.
Here’s what we should be doing:
It should also not be too much to ask those people who have been to countries such as Italy, Iran, China, South Korea and other nations where the virus has been dominant to willfully surrender themselves to health authorities so that they might be thoroughly examined. This is a necessary step to contain the virus.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this virus. I wish them a speedy recovery and hope that they bounce back on their feet as early as possible.
